Ahmad Shah


Ahmad is from the remote valley of Arkari in the Chitral district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province and serves as a Project Coordinator for the Youth Development Foundation (YDF) with the Karachi Youth Initiative (KYI) Project, promoting peace among different communities. He previously was a Planning and Development Officer for Drug Free Pakistan Foundation (DFPF), which promotes drug use prevention within communities and was awarded “Best SMART Project” in the 3rd Pakistan Youth Congress. Ahmad also served as Distribution Coordinator and Training Officer with Focus Humanitarian Assistance Pakistan, an agency of the Aga Khan Development Network. Ahmad has also participated in a number of international youth initiatives, including the ASCAD International Conference & Workshop for DDR Specialists 2014 in Melaka, Malaysia; 6th Asian Youth Congress in Bali, Indonesia; 8th Asian Youth Congress Pario, Bhutan; 3rd Great Anatolian Meeting of the World Cultures; and Youth International Delphic Festival in Ankara, Turkey. He also visited Afghanistan at the request of the US Department of State for the 1st Afghan Youth Congress in Kabul, where he helped deliver skills to Afghan youth to help curb the use of narcotics. In addition to being a 2012 ELP Fellow, he is also part of Inspire a Generation: The Fellowship, an initiative of the Ismaili Council for Pakistan.
